Please be advised that the East Coast Trail will be carrying out trail upgrades on sections of this path between Topsail Beach and St. Thomas Line over the next few weeks, starting July 20, 2020. You will encounter on trail construction and may have to detour around work areas. Please be extra careful if you choose to hike this section of the trail. An update will be provided when the trail work is completed.
Anticipate marshy areas, rope- assisted slope scrambles and unassisted ascents and descents over uneven terrain. The path passes close to cliff edges and crosses exposed bedrock. Use extra caution when conditions are wet or icy.

Hikers are reminded that parking for the Sugarloaf Path's Logy Bay trailhead is found at the East Coast Trail's parking lot on the left-hand side of Marine Lab Road. Under no circumstances should hikers use the Marine Lab facility parking lot to the right. This parking lot is for Marine Lab employees only and is in use 7 days a week.
While crossing White Hills and Bawdens Highland, hikers must stay off trails restricted to mountain biking. The Pipeline track is shared by cyclists and hikers; hikers have right of way. Map recommended. Trail rated footwear required.

Expect a possible jump across an open channel at south end of barachois. Do not leave valuables in vehicles if parking at the Freshwater Bay parking lot (Bay Path access point) on Blackhead Road.
